French Saucisson

Saucisson, or “saucisson sec,” is a variety of thick, dry cured sausage from France. Typically they are made from pork, or a mixture of pork and other meats and ingredients.  Saucisson are a type of charcuterie similar to salami.

We have three tasty types in the shop. Saucisson aux Noisettes (Pork and Hazelnuts), Saucisssons au Poivre (Pork and Black Pepper) and Saucissson au Sanglier (Pork and Wild Boar).

 

 

.Terrines, Cassoulet and Confit

We now also have a selection of traditional French treats. These include  Confit de Canard (perfect for making your own Cassoulet) or  Cassoulet au Canard all ready to go.

Cassoulet is  a humble peasant dish from the south west of France that has been elevated to one of great dishes of French cooking. The name cassoulet comes from the “Cassol dʼIssel”, an earthenware cooking vessel from the town of Issel, near Castelnaudary.

We also have two  delicious Terrines from the same region.

 

 Olives

olives No “Deli” counter can be complete without a selection of tasty of olives. We stock a range from the award winning company Olives Et Al. They source some of the best tasting olives from Morocco, Italy, Spain, Lebanon, Greece (amongst others) to make their great combinations. Some are fully matured olives marinating in herb infused Extra Virgin Olive others are large olives with something tasty stuffed inside.
